HF network associated with Tu-95 strategic bombers and Il-78 tankers. Hobby listeners call it the Bear net, after the NATO name for the Tu-95. Frequencies and callsigns change by season. Most activity is on the 8 MHz channels.
During activity, a single Morse letter is often sent on a ground frequency around H+00, H+20, and H+40 for about two minutes: W for Europe, G for the Pacific.
Training is run off the main frequencies. Voice training sits around 5.6 MHz with a ground station using a distinct callsign. Procedures otherwise match the main net. Those training ground names are listed below as Moscow-2 and Saratov-2.
