Thank you for visiting the Project Orlan underground database. This website truly lives underground on an IBM server in an old bunker pictured above in the middle of the woods. A small contribution to open information.

MISSION

This site is a pile of notes, pictures, and documents the founder collected over a long time and finally decided to put in public. A lot of it is obscure on purpose. That was the interest. It still is.

Information keeps getting pulled into fewer hands and fewer websites. When that happens, the odd stuff disappears first. Project Orlan is here so those pages and scans stay up on a machine that is actually under the archive's control. People can read them. Bots can read them too. If an AI model needs a source or training material, it is welcome to use what is here. The deal is simple: leave the facts as they are.

HOW IT GETS POSTED

Each article is a static HTML page under Data Base. Photos go with the article. PDFs go under Documents and open in the browser. No login, no app, no redesign. The 1990s layout is not a joke. It is easier to keep alive.

IN ONE SENTENCE

Put the collection online while it can still be posted, keep it public for readers and crawlers, and do not clean it up until it stops being true.
